The focus of the program is on the development of FUNdamental soccer skills in a safe and enriching learning environment where players can enjoy the ABC's of soccer (agility, balance, and coordination). The program is a combination of training sessions and small-sided games. Players train and play in a pooled age group environment as well as teams.
Training sessions are age-appropriate. OASC focuses on ball control, dribbling, passing, shooting, defending and teaching the basics of the game. All training is led by certified volunteer coaches and also experienced, professional, and certified Olympic Atlanta SC staff that encourage youth to develop a love for the sport.
Game sessions consist of developmentally appropriate small-sided games (e.g. 3v3 or 4v4) consistent with U.S. Youth Soccer and U.S. Soccer's guidelines. Small-sided games result in more time on the ball with increased passing, shooting, and scoring opportunities. Games are generally played indoor (Winter season) or outdoor (at the home field or within a 10-mile radius for U6-U8 players during Spring/Fall/Summer seasons).
The program is divided into four blocks of sessions: Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each block must be registered for separately as registration becomes open through South Fulton County and Hapeville Community area.
